Sterile Laparotomy Pack - Complete disposable surgical drape kit with reinforced fenestrated drape, gowns and hand towels for abdominal surgery

Why Choose Our Sterile Laparotomy Pack?

Complete Barrier Protection

Our laparotomy surgical drape kit provides AAMI Level 3/4 fluid resistance barrier protection. The reinforced absorbent zone around the fenestration area effectively manages fluids during abdominal procedures, reducing the risk of strike-through contamination.

Time-Saving Setup

This all-in-one sterile laparotomy pack eliminates the need to source individual components. Pre-assembled and sterilized via Ethylene Oxide (EO), it reduces OR setup time and minimizes the chance of missing critical items during preparations.

Premium SMS Fabric

Manufactured with high-quality Spunbond-Meltblown-Spunbond (SMS) non-woven fabric, our disposable laparotomy pack offers the ideal balance between fluid repellency and breathability, keeping the surgical team comfortable during lengthy procedures.

Latex-Free & Hypoallergenic

100% latex-free construction ensures patient and staff safety. Our hypoallergenic surgical drape pack is suitable for patients with latex sensitivity, in compliance with current healthcare facility protocols.

Clinical Applications

Our sterile laparotomy pack is designed for a wide range of abdominal and general surgical procedures, including:

Exploratory laparotomy and abdominal exploration
Appendectomy and cholecystectomy (open approach)
Bowel resection and colorectal surgery
Hernia repair (ventral, incisional, umbilical)
Splenectomy and hepatic procedures
General abdominal trauma surgery

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in a sterile laparotomy pack?

A sterile laparotomy pack typically includes a large fenestrated laparotomy drape with reinforced absorbent zone, surgical gowns (AAMI Level 3/4), hand towels, and may include additional accessories such as mayo stand covers and instrument table covers. All components are pre-assembled and sterilized via Ethylene Oxide (EO) for immediate use in the operating room.

What is the difference between a laparotomy pack and individual surgical drapes?

A laparotomy pack (also called a surgical drape kit) bundles all the drapes, gowns, and accessories needed for an abdominal procedure into a single sterile package. This saves OR setup time, reduces the risk of contamination from opening multiple packages, and ensures consistency across procedures. Individual drapes require separate procurement and sterilization verification for each component.

What AAMI barrier level does the laparotomy drape provide?

Our laparotomy drapes meet AAMI Level 3 and Level 4 barrier protection standards. The reinforced zone around the fenestration provides Level 4 (highest) protection in the critical surgical area, while the peripheral zones maintain Level 3 protection. This ensures adequate fluid resistance for procedures with moderate to high fluid exposure.

Can the laparotomy pack be customized for specific procedures?

Yes. As a direct manufacturer, CMV offers customization options for laparotomy packs. We can adjust the pack contents, drape dimensions, fenestration size, and component quantities to match your facility's specific surgical protocols. Contact our sales team for custom pack configurations and bulk pricing.

How should sterile laparotomy packs be stored?

Sterile laparotomy packs should be stored in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area at room temperature (15-30°C). Keep them away from direct sunlight, moisture, and sharp objects that could compromise the packaging integrity. The shelf life is typically 3-5 years from the sterilization date when stored under proper conditions. Always check the expiration date and packaging integrity before use.
